Technology Enhancements $150,000

  • Assist the District in maintaining technological advancement
  • Provide funds for professional development, specialized software and a variety of techniques
  • Provide training in the use of computers (desktop, laptop, hand-held), smart boards, scientific probes, etc.

Professional Development and Curriculum Grants for Teachers $100,000

  • Support innovative and creative projects for students
  • Support teachers to develop projects to integrate technology into daily instruction

“I Can” Leadership Institute $100,000

  • Develop programs to teach leadership skills
  • Assist students to form a positive self-worth and self-image
  • Assist students how to work with people and the importance of having a positive attitude

Scholarship Awards $75,000

  • Finance monetary gifts for worthy and deserving students
  • Provide scholarships to seniors planning to attend an accredited post-high school institution

“Forever Learning” Programs for 50+ Resident $70,000

  • Provide lecture series, courses and social opportunities
  • Provide programs on wellness and fitness
  • Coordinate efforts to bring senior members of the community into the schools

  • Supplement the internship/job shadowing program for high school students
  • Provide additional guidance to students to identify career options

Student Summer Enrichment Camps ($10,000 each program) $60,000

  • Offer camps in math, reading, science, foreign language, technology and communications

Preschool Reading Readiness $25,000

  • Develop a strong foundation for reading
  • Provide experiences and resources

Field Trip Curriculum Enhancements $15,000

  • Enhance opportunities for grades K-12
  • Supplement curriculum through authentic learning experiences

Tolerance and Diversity Program $15,000

  • Supply consultants with instructional materials to enhance social skills and attitudes in a multi-ethnic society
  • Contribute to students’ knowledge, skills, and attitudes in a cultural, racial, and special needs environment

Mathematics Enrichment Activities $10,000

  • Promote opportunities for participation in Math Blast and/or PSSA Support
  • Provide for Math Day at Hershey Park

Book Mobile $5,000

  • Administer a program to provide reading materials

“Bullying” Prevention Program for K-12 $5,000

  • Provide motivational speakers and materials to discourage negativism and encourage self-confidence and healthy decision making

Family Math and Technology Nights $5,000
• Fund evening instructional workshops to share math and computer skills

S.A.T. College Entrance Test Preparation Course $5,000

  • Available for 10th, 11th and 12th grade students
  • Contribute to instructional costs and materials

Synthetic Surface $390,000

  • Allocate funds to provide a low-maintenance athletic field to save money, minimize athletic injuries, gain greater usage within the District and potential rental income from groups/teams other than the District’s teams

Indoor Running, Walking and Training Surface $60,000

  • Provide a track for athletic training for students and the community to be used during inclement weather

Playground Equipment $50,000

  • Enhance and maintain elementary school playgrounds

Walking Fitness Program $10,000

  • Promote usage by sutdents and community

Performing Arts Enhancement $50,000

  • Purchases equipment to build upon and strengthen our facilities, also to support a community theatre program

“Communities That Care” Central York Organization $40,000

  • Allocate funds to assist CTC in promoting the healthy development of young people. Problems such as substance abuse, violence, teen pregnancy, delinquency and school dropout will be addressed

Marching Band $35,000

  • Purchase equipment, construct platform/scaffolding and improve rehearsal facilities

Community Concert Series/ Guest Performance Series $35,000

  • Designed for people of all ages
  • Funds will be used for a concert/recital (or series) presenting a variety of music, dance and theatrical guest artists throughout the year After School Cultural Enrichment for

Elementary Students $25,000

  • Support the cost of student attendance and participation in community productions
  • Support programs in music, art, drama and theatrical preparation

Artists-In-Residence $25,000

  • Designed for all school-age children as well as younger and older district residents
  • Distribute funds to attract music and vocal performers, composers, painters and sculptors to work with students during the school day or after school

Community Theatre $15,000

  • Support the production of plays and programs involving members of the community, including alumni and school district employees

Summer Festival/Showcase of Talent $15,000

  • Allocate funds to produce a summer festival, talent show or stage performance involving all age students in the district
  • Showcase would be tied to student work in the Black Box Theatre

Dance Troupe and Production $15,000

  • Support the hiring of instructors, costume design and stage needs
  • Provide seed money to start a variety of dance groups to conduct student productions

Commissioning a Composer $15,000

  • Fund the cost of writing an original musical score to be performed by various high school groups

Community Cultural Education $10,000

  • Provide for a variety of cultural opportunities by hosting events
  • Support younger district students by providing the opportunity to be present for high school productions and classes

Drama Camp $5,000

  • Fund the start-up, operational costs and workshops for summer theatre arts for students of all ages
